Ellie Holcomb, Holcomb's wife, who had been a band member since 2005, finally ceased touring with the group in 2012 to care for their infant daughter EmmyLou, and she later started a solo music career. Drew Holcomb started out as a solo performer. In his native Memphis, Tennessee, he recorded his debut EP, Lost And Found, in 2003. After two years, Holcomb published the full-length album Washed in Blue, which resulted in placements on numerous TV shows, including Lifetime's Army Wives, Showtime's United States of Tara, and A&E's The Cleaner. On August 16, 2019, they released Dragons, a record that features songs co-written by Ellie Holcomb, Zach Williams of The Lone Bellow, Lori McKenna, Natalie Hemby, and producer Cason Cooley.
