After recovery, Mitchell went onto to complete pilot training and became co-founder of Vermont Castings; an energy efficient wood burning stove company. In 1975, his second accident came when we he was piloting a small aircraft and crashed during take off because of ice on the wings. Mitchell had serious spinal cord injuries leaving him complete paralyzed. Mitchell has been writing novels to help inspire audiences. His novels include, The Man Who Would Not Be Defeated and Its Not What Happen To You, Its What You Do About It. W.
