The band got the name from an article in The Onion, where it talks about Donald Rumsfeld having a secret hideaway on Fang Island. The band says they want to make music for people who like music, and describes it as if everyone is high-fiving everyone. The bands first release was Day of the Great Leap, which was done so independently in 2007. They followed up with their EP, Sky Gardens, in 2008.
