Pokey LaFarge is a singer-songwriter who incorporates elements of early jazz, country blues and folk into his music. Following the release of his debut album Marmalade, he joined The Hackensaw Boys on tour. LaFarges sophomore release, Beat, Move & Shake, was released via Big Muddy Records. The first album with his band The South City Three, Riverboat Soul, was recorded at producer Phil Harris Nashville studio utilizing vintage instruments and electronics. Released via Free Dirt Records, the album won an Independent Music Award for Best Americana Album. The bands follow-up album, Middle of Everywhere, once again earned them the award. Their third record, Chittlin Cookin Time in Cheatham County, was produced by Jack White for his label Third Man Records. White invited them to work with him on the track I Guess I Should Go to Sleep for his album Blunderbuss, and perform as an opening act for him on tour. LaFarge signed with Whites record label, and built up a larger band to record his self-titled album. The following year, he signed with Rounder Records and recorded Something in the Water. LaFarge has performed on NPRs Tiny Desk Concert series, Jools Hollands Hootenanny TV show, The Late Show with David Letterman, The Late Late Show in Ireland, Good Morning New Zealand, The Marty Stuart Show, and Conan. Major festival appearances so far have included the Cambridge Folk Festival UK and the Stagecoach Music Festival in Coachella, CA..
