The first letter of both of their first names plus the fact that they were both born on the 30th of the month were combined to form the term "the pair." Due to their father Jay Clementi's successful songwriting career, which included writing songs for country singers Martina McBride, Darius Rucker, Dierks Bentley, Sara Evans, Luke Bryan, Sunny Sweeney, and many others, the brothers grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, surrounded by music from an early age. The duo was discovered by country music icon Luke Bryan while playing at neighborhood benefit concerts in Nashville, and he provided them with contacts in the music business. Bryan made a surprise appearance in the CB30's "Marina" music video, which was released in 2016. A joint venture between Universal Music Group Nashville and Disney Music Group, Buena Vista Records, released the duo's second song, "Cool If You Wanna," on November 10, 2017. The song's songwriters are Jim McCormick, Tyler Posey, Christian, Jay Clementi, and the Coutinho twins. The Christmas Classic, a well-known Christmas song, was covered by CB30 and performed by the group at the Grand Ole Opry as part of ABC's CMA Country Christmas in December 2017. In April 2018, the duo released their third single, "Like It's A Bad Thing," which was written by Christian, Jay, and Kevin Clementi. On the SiriusXM Spotlight Stage at the Stagecoach Festival in 2018, they gave their first public performance of the song. On the Radio Disney Country Stage at CMA Fest in June 2018, CB30 gave a performance. The Everly Brothers and Ed Sheeran are two artists the brothers cite as influences.
