Walsh was born in Boca Raton, Florida, and he began his career playing high school football where he was a punter and placekicker. Walsh went on to play college football for the University of Georgia where he was known as the “Athens Assassin.” He went on to be drafted in the sixth round of the NFL draft by the Minnesota Vikings.
