Rimington was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and he began his career playing football in high school before going on to play college football at the University of Nebraska where he was a consensus first-team All-American, was named the UPI Big Eight Player-of-the-Year, the AP Big Eight Offensive Player of the Year, was a Big Eight Athlete of the Year, UPI National Lineman of the Year, and an NCAA Top Five winner. He also won the Outland Trophy twice, the Lombardi Award, and has been gone on to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. Rimington then went on to be selected in the first round of the NFL draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. Rimington spent a majority of his NFL career playing for the Bengals and also played for the Philadelphia Eagles for a year.
