Chris Leak is an American football coach and former football quarterback who played in the NFL, the CFL and the AFL. Leak was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, and he began his career playing high school football where he helped lead the school to three consecutive North Carolina 4-A state championships and set records for passing yards in a career and completions in a career as well as the national record for touchdown passes in a career. He went on to be a Parade magazine All-American as well as the Parade Player of the Year. He was also rated a five-star prospect. Leak went on to play college football at the University of Florida where he was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team and Rivals Freshman All-American team. He was also named to the second-team All-SEC twice and won the MVP award. Leak went on to play for the Chicago Bears in the NFL during the preseason and then began his career playing in the CFL for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Montreal Alouettes, and Saskatchewan Roughriders. He also then played in the AFL for the Jacksonville Sharks and the Orlando Predators. After finishing his career as a player, Leak went on to begin his coaching career with the University of Florida where he was a graduate assistant and then a wide receivers coach.
