The band was formed by Quinn and Cooper who had first met while in high school at Philadelphia. They then recorded their debut singles, “Astrovan” with Byrnes which led to them gaining a ton of fame and adding the two other members of the band to make them a full band. Since then, Mt. Joy has gone on to perform at Bonnaroo, Newport Folk Festival as well as Lollapalooza. They’ve also opened for bands such as The Shins, The Lumineers, Whitney, The Revivalists, and more. Mt.
