Ricardo Lagos is a Chilean lawyer, economist, and politician who has previously served as the 32nd President of Chile. Lagos was born in Santiago, Chile, and he has earned his law degree from the University of Chile and his Ph.D. in Economis from Duke University. After finishing his degree, Lagos went on to begin working as a visiting professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the political science department. Since then, Lagos has gone on to serve as a Special Envoy on Climate change for the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
