Moses Boyd is a British jazz drummer, composer, record producer, electronic musician, radio host and bandleader who has been apart of the duo Binker and Moses, and has led the jazz band Moses Boyd Exodus, also known as the Exodus. Boyd was born in Catford, London, England, and found his love for the drums while studying in school. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Music in jazz drums from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. As a musician, Boyd has been known for blending genres into jazz to create new sub-genres and has performed nu-jazz, electro jazz, jazz rock, and fusion. Boyd finds influence in jungle music, afrobeats, reggae, and more. After he began to pursue a musical career, Boyd released the album “Safe and Sound,” as part of The Peter Edwards Trio. The following year, he began his work as a solo artist and with Binker and Moses. As Binker and Moses, Boyd released the album “Dem Ones,” and under the name Moses Boyd Exodus, he released the mixtape “Footsteps Of Our Fathers.” With Binker and Moses he has gone on to released two more albums, “Journey to the Mountain Of Forever” and “Alive in the East.” Most recently, Boyd has released his debut solo album, “Dark Matter.”.
