Henry Wu is the stage name for Kamaal Williams EDM musical project. Williams is a British musician and producer who is best known for his career performing jazz music. He rose to fame as one-half of the jazz group Yussef Kamaal after the release of their debut album, “Black Focus,” which earned them the Breakthrough Act award at the Jazz FM Awards. Williams was born in Peckham, London, and he found his love for music at a young age which included jazz, funk and house music. He studied music production and learned to play the keyboard at the Bermondsey Centre of Southwark College and began performing with Katy B. He later began releasing various house releases under the name Henry Wu and released the album “Natural Complexion.” Henry Wu has also released six other albums and two EPs which include “27 Karat Years,” “Deep in the Mud,” “Shades of Wu” and “Projections.” Henry Wu is also known for hosting a monthly radio show on NTS Radio where he plays various up-and-coming songs from artists in London. He has also worked with K15 to produce the EP “WU15.”.
