Ringside, started by Scott Thomas, is an indie pop-rock band consisting of Scott and actor Balthazar Getty. Scott – after apparently nearly dying at birth, being adopted, and nearly burning down his hometown of Lafayette – got his hands on his uncle’s massive record collection. From there, his passion for music took off. Scott moved to Los Angeles, living with a new family while finishing high school. It was here where he got into acting and was good enough to get a scholarship to NYU, which he ultimately passed on. The band itself got its start in Hollywood, being inspired by bands like The Clash, The Stooges, Depeche Mode, and T. Rex. It all started when they became roommates after hitting it off and sharing their love for music, despite playing very different styles. Eventually, they did end up playing together and, with the encouragement of their friends, they dropped everything and pursued it very seriously. It relaly paid off when they signed with Flawless Records and released their self-titled studio debut in 2005. Ringside’s most recent album “Fiend For You” came out in 2015. Their sound, while being classified as indie music, has a sound that’s been compared to an eclectic range of artists, like the Rolling Stones..
