Harrison Allen on drums, Carman Kubanda on guitar, and Aaron Campbell on keyboard and guitar made up the original touring lineup. Aaron Campbell was later replaced by Jake Randle (bass guitar). He Is We at first relied on social networking, using sites like Facebook and Myspace. They were recognized as the top unsigned band of 2009 by PureVolume. They signed with Universal Motown Records as a result of their web presence and the February 2010 release of an album of old demos.
