They created a dance style they name "Free Expression" because they are identical twin brothers and it focuses on personal emotion and expression. The twins were reared by a single mother after being born in the Mataderos neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina. They started dancing together at age seven, inspired by Michael Jackson, and dropped out of school at thirteen. They started acting in 1993 when they were fifteen years old, attempting to establish a profession as twins while mainly being known for their dance. After failing in their acting endeavors, they started choreographing their own dance routines, learning to play the piano and drums, and eventually branching out into other visual arts, including short film authoring at the age of nineteen. James Brown referred to them as the "Soul Boys" when he first met them when they were 20 years old and encouraged them to perform with him on stage at a modest event in Buenos Aires.
