Asake is the stage name of Nigerian Afrobeats artist and songwriter Ahmed Ololade. He has contracts with Empire Distribution and YBNL Nation. His stage name is a tribute to his mother, Asake, who has the first name. At Ile-Ife, Osun state's Obafemi Awolowo University, Asake studied theater and performing arts. Despite having published songs since 2018, his musical career advanced when he launched the single "Mr. Money" in 2020. Then came a remix with Zlatan and Peruzzi. When he released the 2020 single, Lady, he made his debut in the field. After being signed to YBNL Records in February 2022 by label head Olamide (Badoo), he became famous. Olamide and Asake's chart-topping song "Omo Ope" were featured on his debut extended play Ololade, which was released in February 2022. "Sungba," another successful single from the extended play, was released and remixed a month later with a verse by Nigerian musician Burna Boy. In July 2022, Asake and Empire also sign a distribution agreement. On September 8, 2022, Asake published "Mr. Money With the Vibe," his debut studio album, seven months after the release of his debut EP. The popular singles "Terminator," "Peace Be Unto You," and the Burna Boy and Sungba remix of "Sungba" all helped to promote the album. His home country of Nigeria and admirers all over the world praised the album highly, and it went on to shatter a number of world records. He also went on to plan a worldwide tour in support of his debut record, selling out London's O2 Academy Brixton in the process..
