Ambassador Michael Oren has dedicated his life to assisting Israel and the Jewish community worldwide. He is a statesman, historian and lawmaker.
He dealt with foreign leaders while serving as a member of the Knesset and Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Office and he spoke out in favor of Israel in the media. He was the driving force behind initiatives to combat BDS, develop the Golan Heights and build ties between Israel and the Diaspora. He dealt with some of Israel's most delicate security matters in his capacity as Chairman of a confidential panel.
Prior to that, Oren worked as Israel's ambassador to the US for over five years. He played a key role in securing US loan guarantees for Israel's economy as well as US defense assistance, particularly for the Iron Dome system. He strengthened the U.S.-Israel connection by forging ties with many communities across the country, penning numerous op-eds and participating in numerous media interviews.
Dr. Oren, who holds degrees from Princeton and Columbia, has taught as a guest professor at Harvard, Yale and Georgetown. He has received four honorary doctorates, the Washington Institute for Near East Statesman of the Year Medal and the Dr. Martin Luther King Legacy Prize for International Service.
