As an Oslo-based student at a sports college, Sunniva Lindgård came up with the SASSY 009 name first created as a throwaway SoundCloud account. "I was given the option of choosing a wholly different course, and I chose music. My teacher said, 'OK, today you're going to learn how to produce music'."
Lindgård fell head over heels. Being the child of two classically educated musicians, Lindgård grew up surrounded by music, taking violin, cello and piano lessons before giving them up. With Teodora Georgijevic and Johanna Scheie Orellana, two of Lindgård's childhood friends, SASSY 009 initially consisted of three members before becoming a solo endeavor.
Following up on Do You Mind, the artist's latest EP, KILL SASSY 009, is a floor-shaking electronic tune on which Lindgrd hypnotically layers delicate harmonies over confusing synths, punctuated by urgent vocals and euphoric percussion.
