American documentary producer and filmmaker Ezra Benjamin Edelman. He is most recognized for helming the O.J.: Made in America documentary for ESPN's 30 for 30 in 2016, which won an Academy Award. Edelman was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on August 6, 1974. He is the son of Peter Edelman, a Georgetown University Law Center professor and former aide to Senator Robert F. Kennedy, and Marian Wright Edelman, a longtime civil rights activist and aide to Martin Luther King Jr. His brothers are Jonah and Joshua.

After graduating from Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., Edelman went on to Yale University to complete his undergraduate studies. He launched his career by helming three HBO Sports documentaries, including Brooklyn Dodgers: Ghosts of Flatbush, which won an Emmy Award, Magic and Bird: A Courtship of Rivals, and The Curious Case of Curt Flood. Requiem for the Big East, another 30 for 30 series special he wrote and directed, focused on the previous Big East Conference. Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas, an HBO documentary series that aired for two seasons, was produced by Edelman.

O. J. Simpson was tried and found not guilty of killing Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman in 1995; Edelman devoted his Oscar acceptance speech to them. For directing O.J.: Made in America, he received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing in a Nonfiction Program and the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
