Sixpence None The Richer Booking Agency Profile

Book Sixpence None The Richer for your next corporate event, function, or private party.
The Texas-based Christian contemporary music group Sixpence None the Richer was formed in the early 1990s when guitarist Matt Slocum met vocalist Leigh Nash (then Lee Bingham) during a church retreat. The band was named after a section from C.S. Lewis' Mere Christianity. The band, which was originally a trio with bassist T.J. Behling rounding out the lineup, put out a demo before signing with R.E.X. Records, a label that had previously focused on Christian metal. The Fatherless & the Widow, their debut album, was released in 1993. Sixpence None the Richer, with new bassist J.J. Plasencio, drummer Dale Baker, and rhythm guitarist Tess Wiley, went on tour before going back into the studio to make their sophomore album, This Beautiful Mess.
It was not until the dreamy melody "Kiss Me" was released as a single that Sixpence None the Richer became well-known. The song launched Sixpence None the Richer's star power into the public and received radio in more than ten different nations after it was featured on the third season of Dawson's Creek. Glories kept coming as the group's cover of "There She Goes" by the La's also turned into a big hit, partly because it was used in the Nickolodeon movie Snow Day. After the band survived the departure of original drummer Dale Baker and signed a new record deal with Reprise, the new millennium appeared bright. Divine Discontent, a gorgeous song, marked Sixpence None the Richer's comeback to form.
The band has scheduled a rerelease of their album along with a touring schedule coming soon..
