The bands core member, Andrew Butler, has been involved in music since he was fifteen years old, and he got the idea for the project’s name from his love for Greek mythology. The uniqueness of the members of the group influences the creation of their eccentric style of music. From the band's beginning up to 2010, the members included Nomi Ruiz, Kim Ann Foxman, and various guest singers. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2008, and was received well both critically and commercially. In 2011, the band released their second album titled Blue Songs under the Moshi Moshi label.
