Andrew Solomon is a Professor of Clinical Psychology at Columbia University Medical Center, and President of PEN American Center. He studied at Yale University and then at Jesus College Cambridge, where he was graduated first in his class, becoming the only foreigner ever to be so-honored. Solomon's book, The Noonday Demon: An Atlas of Depression, has so far won him fifteen national awards, including the National Book Award, and has been published in twenty-four languages.
