Day Wave is a 2014-founded American indie rock band from Oakland, California. The Jackson Phillips-led band, which features additional musicians for live performances, published its first EP, Headcase, in 2015. Day Wave has been highlighted in Billboard and LA Mag. During Blonde Redhead's fall 2016 tour, they served as the opener. Day Wave joined Harvest Records in November 2016 and put out the single "Wasting Time." Watch Dogs 2, a video game released in 2016, features the song "Hard to Read." Day Wave's debut album, The Days We Had, was announced in February 2017 and released on May 5. Early in 2017, Phillips moved to Los Angeles' Echo Park district. Phillips recorded his full-length debut directly to tape, just like he did for his earlier EPs. Day Wave and Phillips co-released a cover of Interpol's "PDA," which featured some of the Australian-American musician Hazel English's earliest recordings. Day Wave's third EP, Crush, was made available on April 24, 2020. The Day Wave touring lineup also includes Alex Lasner, Nick de Ryss, Henry Moser (bass), and Jack Moser (keyboard/synth) (guitar).
