Stand Tall Steve Booking Agency Profile

Book Stand Tall Steve for your next corporate event, function, or private party.
Steven Bollar's educational career started as a visual arts teacher in Lawrenceville Township Schools, New Jersey. During his seven years in Lawrenceville as an elementary art teacher he developed an impressive art program. Steven developed such programs as ARTS DAY, Hot Steppers, and Parent Portrait Night. Each of the programs allowed him to gain experience in administration and develop his skills as a leader. By the eighth year in Lawrenceville, he was a prominent member of the Lawrenceville Township staff, published in two national educational magazines, showcased in the NEA Review, and appointed Director of Visual and Performing Arts.

Steven felt it necessary to move further into the world of public school administration. Steven was hired as an assistant principal at Charles W. Lewis Middle School within Gloucester Township Schools in Camden County, New Jersey. As an assistant principal in the largest K-8 district in the state of New Jersey he gained an enormous amount of experience. Steven was introduced to Renaissance, a philosophy of motivating and supporting students and staff. During his tenure at C. W. Lewis Middle School he continued to focus on the arts and other special subject areas. He was able to publish an in house newsletter, Rotation Station, which informed other staff about the great things being taught in the specialty subject areas. Other areas of success were educational movie days, development of test preparatory classes, and the creation of the booklet "Exploratory Scheduling for Dummies". Steven was able to leave Gloucester Township with a scheduling tool that can be used for years to come. He was able to gain a substantial amount of knowledge and experience.

Steven felt he was ready to lead his own building. His first principal assignment was at Joseph A. McGinley Elementary School within the Willingboro Public Schools in Burlington County, New Jersey. Under his leadership, McGinley developed into a true learning family. Reaching into his creative past and fortunate experiences, he led the McGinley school family to continued success. Through Steven's philosophy such programs arose: Mission Possible, Reading Train, The Count (daily mathematics), March Madness, Willingboro Thinking Caps, Academic Rallies, Heritage Night, and many more. Unfortunately, due to district budgetary constraints, J. A. McGinley Elementary School had to close its doors.
Seeing the level of success Steven had with J. A. McGinley Elementary School, Willingboro Township Public Schools appointed Steven as the principal of the newly developed Memorial Upper Elementary School. Mr. Bollar took the challenge to transform a middle school into an upper elementary school. Mr. Bollar was given the opportunity to create from scratch, the framework and schedule of the new upper elementary school. Again, pulling from his creative background and experiences Memorial Upper Elementary School opened with great success. The continued success of the upper elementary school is attributed to such creative concepts as: modified block schedule, blue core and white core concept, Renaissance philosophy, small learning communities, core points, and staff support systems.

In the following years Steven was the principal of Hartford School in Mount Laurel, NJ. During his eight years as principal he developed an empowering and successful learning institution. Walking through the front doors you could feel the positive focus on students and education.

Steven's experience expanded to upper administration as the assistant superintendent and acting superintendent of Hamilton Township Public Schools in Mercer County, NJ. In his role he unified the district, provided visionary guidance, and implemented several student focused programs.

Currently, Steven is the Senior Vice President of Elementary Programs at CSMI LLC. CSMI LLC is an educational management company that oversees and supports charter school within Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In his role as Senior Vice President he oversees the development and success of the schools that CSMI manages in New Jersey. He does this by assuming the role of "superintendent" for the New Jersey charter schools under CSMI management. He continues to use his talents and skills to continually improve the educational process.

Steven is the author of the book Ideas Ideas Ideas. The book is a collection of proven ideas that can improve the climate and culture of a school or district. Steven has been recognized as the 2014 Burlington County Principal and Supervisor Association Visionary Leader, 2012 New Jersey Magazine Top 20 Men of the Year, 2012 Suburban Family Magazine Top Citizen of the Year, and a member of the Jostens Renaissance Hall of Fame.
