Before beginning stand-up, David became a director for plays and also taught theater in schools and local theaters. He then became a full-time comedian and has performed at Montreals Just for Laughs Festival, the TBS Comedy Festival, and HBOs US Comedy Arts Festival to name a few. He was the first openly gay man to have a special on Comedy Central Presents, and he also was on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn for a few years.
