Darling went on to study classical cello at Indiana State University and after graduating, he started teaching there for several years and then went on to be a studio musician in Nashville, Tennessee. In Nashville, Darling became a member of the Paul Winter Consort and then formed the group Gallery with Ralph Towner. At that same time, Darling released his debut solo album. Since then, he’s gone on to release numerous albums and has also written and performed music for American and International films such as “Child’s Play”, “Heat”, “Until the End of the World”, “Nouvelle Vague”, “Notre Musique” and more. He’s also recorded music with artists such as Peter Kater, Ketil Bjornstad, Terje Rypdal, Glen Moore, Ralph Towner, and many more.
