Calamaro was born in Buenos Aires and when he was 17 years old he started his first band, the Elmer Band. Around the same time he started produced for bands and artists such as Fabiana Cantilo, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs and Los Enanitos Verdes. With Los Rodriguez, the band released three studio albums and two live albums.
