Raveena Aurora, also known as just Raveena, is an American R&B and pop singer-songwriter from Queens, New York City. Raveena was born in Massachusetts but grew up in Queens, New York as well as Stamford, Connecticut. Her parents were immigrants from India and she was raised in a traditional Sikh household. During her time in middle school, she became infatuated with music genres such as folk, jazz, soul, and R&B, which influenced her to pursue a musical career. Years later, Raveena began working with record producer Everett Orr and she released her debut EP, “Shanti”, which is a mixture of R&B, soul, and jazz music. Shortly after, Raveena was featured in ModCloth’s Say It Louder campaign alongside artists such as Hayley Kiyoko and Lizzo. That same year she performed at Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival and later performed in the Java Jazz Festival in Jakarta, Indonesia. Raveena went on to release her debut studio album, “Lucid”, which was featured on NPR as one of the best albums of the year and was also featured on Pitchfork.
