Oguchi Onyewu is an American retired soccer player who is currently the sporting director for Orlando City B for the USL League One. Onyewu was born in Washington, D.C. and he began his career playing at the youth club IMG Academy. He also played soccer in high school and went on to play college soccer for Clemson University for two years before moving to Europe and beginning his professional career with Metz of Ligue 2 in France. Over the course of his career, Onyewu went on to play for teams such as La Louviere on loan, Standard Liege, Newcastle United on loan, Milan, Twente on loan, Sporting CP, Malaga on loan, Queens Park Rangers, Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton Athletic and Philadelphia Union.
