Steven Van Zandt, also known as Little Steven or Miami Steve, is an American singer-songwriter, musician, producer, actor, and DJ who is best known for being a member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, in which he plays the guitar and mandolin. Steven is also known for acting as Silvio Dante on series “The Sopranos,” and as Frank Tagliano on series “Lilyhammer.” Apart from his career with Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, Steven has also performed with his own band, Little Steven and The Disciples of Soul. Steven was born in Winthrop, Massachusetts, and had a passion for music at a young age. He began learning how to play the guitar and loved watching the Beatles and the Rolling Stones perform on television. Steven went on to start his first band, the Whirlwinds, before going on to form the Mates and then join the Shadows. Steven went on to meet Springsteen in a club in Middletown where Springsteen saw Steven performing. They went on to play together in bands such as Steel Mill and the Bruce Springsteen band before later joining the E Street Band. Steven has also co-founded The Miami Horns and Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. Steven has gone on to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the E Street Band.
