Ruthie Lindsey is an author, speaker, and podcast host based out of Nashville, Tennessee. Lindsey’s life hit tragedy when she was only 17 years old and was hit by an ambulance outside of a gas station. This left her with a ruptured spleen, punctured lungs, and a broken neck. The accident gave her a 5% chance of survival and she was given only a 1% chance of being able to walk again. Lindsey was then lucky enough to be able to beat both of those odds and left the hospital within a month but several years later, she was hit with debilitating chronic pain after turning her neck, which left her bedridden for seven years. During that time, she became addicted to painkillers and after years of doctor visits, she finally found out that the wire holding her neck together was piercing into her brain and she would need another surgery. After recovering from the surgery, Lindsey was still suffering from depression and moved back to the town where she was hit by the ambulance. From there, she quit painkillers, and has gone on to share her story with others all over the world. Lindsey has gone on to be co-host of The Unspoken Podcast and is set to release her memoir, ‘There I Am, The Journey From Hopelessness to Healing.’.
