Rison was born in Flint, Michigan, and he began his career playing high school football where he was a star player before going on to play college football at Michigan State University. While at Michigan State, Rison helped the college win the Rose Bowl. Rison went on to be drafted in the first round as the 22nd pick in the NFL draft by the Indianapolis Colts. Rison played for the Colts during his rookie season before being traded to the Atlanta Falcons. Over the course of his career he played for several other teams including Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders and Toronto Argonauts.
