Bison, formerly known as Bison B.C., is a heavy metal band from Vancouver, British Columbia, that consists of member James Farwell a.k.a. “Gnarwell,” Dan And, Shane Clark, and Matt Wood. Bison was formed by Farwell, and they began their career after being signed to Metal Blade Records. Bison first rose to fame with the release of their first album “Earthbound.” This release led to the band signing to Metal Blade Records and released their debut full length album, “Quiet Earth,” which was given a 9.5 out of 10 through the website Review Busters. That same year, Bison was featured on Rolling Stone as one of the 10 Buzz-Worthy Breakouts as part of CMJ’s Hottest Bands. Since the release of Quiet Earth, Bison went on to release two more albums through Metal Blade Records; “Dark Ages” and “Lovelessness.” Dark Ages was featured on Exclaim! Magazine as the 6th best metal album of the year and was also featured on the website OneMetal. Since leaving Metal Blade Records, Bison has released an EP, “One Thousand Needles,” and an album, “You Are Not The Ocean You Are The Patient.” Bison has previously toured with bands such as 3 Inches of Blood, The Ocean Collective, Priestess, High on Fire, and more.
