Doug Cosbie is an American former professional football player who played in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys the entirety of his professional career. Cosbie was born in Palo Alto, California, and he began his career playing football as well as basketball and baseball while in high school. He helped his school reach the Central Coast Section playoffs and was part of the first Santa Clara Valley All-Star Football Game. From there, Cosbie went on to play college football at De Anza College before transferring to the College of the Holy Cross and then Santa Clara University. During his time at Santa Clara University, Cosbie was an honorable-mention All-Pacific Coast and was inducted into the Santa Clara University Athletic Hall of Fame. Cosbie then went on to be selected in the third round of the NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. During his time playing for the Cowboys, Cosbie was an All-Pro UPI NFC selection as well as a three-time Pro Bowl selection. After playing with the Cowboys for almost 10 years, Cosbie went on to sign with the Denver Broncos but didn’t play in season with them.
