David Pollack is a former American professional football linebacker who played in the NFL. Pollack was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and he began his career playing football in high school where he was a Class 5A all-state selection and was named Defensive Lineman of the Year by the Atlanta Touchdown Club. Pollack went on to play college football at the University of Georgia where he was a first-team All-Southern Conference selection three times, a three-time first-team All-American, a two-time SEC Player of the Year, won two Ted Hendricks Awards, won a Lombardi Award, won a Lott Trophy, and won a Chuck Bednarik Award. He has since gone on to be inducted into both the College Football Hall of Fame and the Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in history and was then selected in the first round, 17th overall pick in the NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. Pollack only played in the NFL for two seasons and had to cut his professional career short after having a broken sixth cervical vertebrae from a first quarter tackle during a game. After that, Pollack went on to start the company FanBan, which creates sports banners that feature sports photographs and college football team logos.
