Bernie Herms is a Canadian Christian music producer, composer, and songwriter who is based out of Nashville, Tennessee. Herms was born in London, Ontario, and was the son of a Pentecostal minister. While growing up, Herms moved around Edmonton, Alberta, to Chilliwack, British Columbia before studying at Trinity Western University in Langley, British Columbia. From there, Herms transferred to Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, and while there, met Brad Paisley who was his classmate and whom he formed a friendship with. Herms then earned his baccalaureate degree in classical composition at Belmont and earned the universities’ Curtain Call Award. After graduating, Herms began working as a bandmate with Brad Paisley before beginning his own musical career with the release of the album “Nocturne.” He followed this up with “Softly & Tenderly” before deciding to pursue a songwriting and production career. Since then, Herms has gone on to work with artists which include Josh Groban, Kelly Clarkson, Barbra Streisand, Selena Gomez, Natalie Grant, and many more. He has co-written the song “East to West” with Mark Hall and he has won a Grammy Award for the song “Thy Will,” by Hillary Scott and the Scott Family..
