Conway was born in Los Angeles, California, and he began his career playing high school football where he won All-American honors. He went on to play college football at USC where he originally played as a quarterback but converted to a wide receiver. During his time playing at USC, Conway was a first team All-American. Conway went on to be selected in the first round, seventh overall pick in the NFL draft by the Chicago Bears. During his time playing in the NFL, Conway went on to play for teams which include the San Diego Chargers, New York Jets, and San Francisco 49ers. Conway finished his NFL career with 594 receptions, 8,230 receiving yards, and 52 receiving touchdowns.
