Rhett was born in Pembroke Pines, Florida, and he began his career playing football in high school where he was a star high school football player as well as a notable wrestler. Rhett went on to play college football at the University of Florida where he broke the record for career rushing record with 4,163 yards and 34 touchdowns, 1,230 yards receiving and 2 touchdown receptions and led the school in rushing all four years of his college career.
