Ernest Givins is a former American professional football player who played in the NFL. Givins was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, and he began his career playing football in high school before going on to play college football at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College before transferring to the University of Louisville where he set records for punt return and kickoff returns. Givins went on to be selected in the second round of the NFL draft by the Houston Oilers. Givins spent almost the entirety of his NFL career playing with the Oilers and during his time playing with them he was a two-time Pro Bowl selection and an All-Pro selection. He also set the records for most receiving yards in a career at 7,935 and receptions in a career at 542. Givins also signed for a season with the Jacksonville Jaguars before retiring and finished his NFL career with 571 receptions, 8,215 receiving yards and 49 touchdowns.
