Adam McKay is an American screenwriter, director, comedian, and actor, best known for his run as a head writer for Saturday Night Live for a couple seasons and for directing hits that star with Will Ferrell such as, “Step Brothers”, “Anchorman”, “Talladega Nights”, “Anchorman 2”, and “The Other Guys”. McKay is a founding member of Upright Citizens Brigade improv and often was a performer at Chicago’s Improv Olympic. His first major job came when he auditioned to be a performer on Saturday Night Live but they loved his scripts so much he became a writer for several years before becoming a head writer. Upon leaving SNL, McKay started his work writing films with Will Ferrell, which McKay also directed and produced. The duo also launched “Funny or Die” and co-produced television series “Eastbound & Down”. More recently, McKay has tried to branch out into more serious films which include writing and directing “The Big Short”, which he won an Oscar for Best Writing, and also, directing, producing, and writing “Vice”, the latter for which he’s been nominated two Golden Globes for, one in Best Screenplay and one in Best Director..
