Giddens was born in London, England, and he has earned his degree in joint sociology and psychology from the University of Hull before going on to earn his master’s at the London School of Economics and his Ph.D. at King’s College, Cambridge. After finishing his Ph.D., Giddens went on to begin teaching social psychology at the University of Leicester.
