Rob Lilwall is an adventurer, author, and motivational speaker who is known for his expeditions which include cycling home from Siberia, and walking home from Mongolia. Lilwall began his career studying geography at Edinburgh University and after finishing his PGCE at Oxford University, he went on to begin working as a geography teacher at Larkmead School. After working as a teacher for two years, Lilwall quit his job and dove straight into his first exhibition which was cycling home from Siberia. During this exhibition, Lilwall flew to Magadan in Siberia, taking his bicycle with him. He then went on to bicycle home over 30,000 miles and went through 28 different countries during the way which included Australia, Iran, and Tibet. He also gained the accomplishment of being the first person to ride a bike through the Kokoda Trail. He then took his experience and published his first book, ‘Cycling Home From Siberia,’ which then earned it’s own television series as well. A few years later, Lilwall went on his second exhibition, Walking Home From Mongolia, where he flew to Mongolia and then began to work the 3,500 miles back home to where he was living, Hong Kong. This exhibition also earned it’s own television series and also became a book. Some of Lilwall’s other expeditions include Solo across the Desert of Death where he walked across China’s Taklamakan Desert; and the Tandem USA when him and his wife rode a tandem bike across the United States..
