Torhi Harper, better known as his stage name, Murphy Lee, is an American rapper who is best known for his rise to fame performing as a member of the group St. Lunatics. Lee was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, and he began his musical career forming the rap group St. Lunatics with Nelly, Ali, Kyjuan and City Spud. St. Lunatics had some popularity after the release of the single “Gimmie What You Got,” but then after a while, Nelly left to begin a career as a solo artist. St. Lunatics then went on to release two albums which included “Free City,” and “Who’s the Boss.” After that, Lee went on to release music as a solo artist with the release of the single “Wat Da Hook Gon Be” which featured Jermaine Dupri. The single peaked at number 6 on the US Rap charts and that same year, Lee released the debut studio album “Murphy’s Law,” which peaked at number 8 on the US Billboard charts and at number 5 on the US R&B charts. The debut album also earned RIAA certified gold. As a solo artist, Lee went on to follow up his debut album with his second album “You See Me.” He has also released singles such as “Hold Up,” “Hatin’,” and “My Shoes.” He has also been featured on a few singles for Nelly and for artists such as Ludacris, Kanye West, J-Kwon, Ali, Playaz Circle, and more. He is also well-known for the single “Shake Ya Tailfeather” which he performed alongside Nelly and P. Diddy for the Bad Boys II soundtrack..
