John W. Bowman Jr., best known as his stage name, DJ Kool, is an American rapper and DJ who gained fame through his rap singles in the 1980’s. DJ Kool was born in Washington, D.C. and he found his love for music while growing up working in the go-go and rap circuits. He then went on to release his debut single, “The Music Ain’t Loud Enuff,” which later went on to be the name of his debut studio album. His debut studio album went on to peak at number 60 on the US R&B charts and during this time he also released singles which included “What the Hell You Come in Here For,” “Raggae Dance,” and “I Can Make You Dance.” DJ Kool then went on to release his second studio album, “20 Minute Workout,” which peaked at number 84 on the US R&B charts. He then went on to release two more albums which include “Let Me Clear My Throat,” which peaked at number 161 on the US Billboard charts and 21 on the US R&B charts and then “Gimmie Dat Beat.” DJ Kool was also known for his single “Let Me Clear My Throat” and was also a contributor for the single “Hit the Floor,” which was performed by “Macho Man” Randy Savage..
