Jordan Asher Cruz, better known as his stage name BOOTS, is an American record producer, director, rapper, singer-songwriter and filmmaker who rose to fame after contributing to Beyonce’s self-titled studio album. Boots began his musical career as a member of various bands which included Blonds, Young Circles, Blond Fuzz and Stonefox. He began his career after being signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation as a publisher. Through his work with Beyonce and her self-titled album, Boots was the co-writer for songs which included “Haunted,” “Jealous,” and “Blue.” The following year, Boots worked as a producer and co-writer for Run the Jewels and since then, he has worked as a co-writer or producer for artists which include Kelela, FKA Twigs, Autolux, Vic Mensa, Fischerspooner, Phantogram, and more. Breaking into his own music, Boots released his mixtape, “Winter Spring Summer Fall.” The following year, he released his debut EP, “Motorcycle Jesus,” and that same year he released his debut studio album, “Aquaria,” which peaked at number 14 on the US Heatseekers charts.
