Aaron Bruno is an American singer-songwriter and musician who is best known for being the founder, lead singer, and last original remaining member of the American rock band, Awolnation. Apart from his work with Awolnation, Bruno has also been a former member of the post-grunge band, Home Town Hero, and a former member of Under the Influence of Giants, and Insurgence. Bruno was born in Los Angeles, California, and he began his career playing guitar when he was only 10 years old. While studying in high school, Bruno earned the nickname of “AWOL,” and used this name in performances before later adding it into the name of Awolnation. Bruno began his musical career first becoming a member of the band Ice Monkeys in high school, alongside his lifelong friend Drew Stewart. The duo later formed the punk band, Insurgence, while Bruno was still in high school. After that, Bruno and Stewart then formed the band Home Town Hero alongside Ray Blanco and Todd Burnes. That band was signed to Maverick Records and the band toured all over the country and opened for artists which included Linkin Park and Stone Temple Pilots. After the disbandment of Home Town Hero, Bruno formed Under the Influence of Giants which signed to Island Def Jam, before going on to found Awolnation. With Awolnation, Bruno has released four studio albums which include “Run,” “Here Come the Runts,” and “Angel Miners and the Lightning Riders.”.
