Ryan Montbleau is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist who is known for touring as the Ryan Montbleau Band and who performs a mixture of music genres which include Americana, blues, folk and funk. Montbleau was born in Peabody, Massachusetts, and he began playing the guitar at nine years old. Although he had a passion for music at a young age he didn’t begin pursuing a musical career until he was in college studying at Villanova University. He then began playing and writing his own music and began performing at the House of Blues in Boston where he also began working at. During this time he also began playing music in various Boston venues as well as coffee shops and he earned a fan base locally. During this time he released two solo albums, “Begin” and “Stages.” He then formed a collective with members Matt Giannaros, Laurence Scudder, Jason Cohen, and James Cohen, and the group released their collective album, “One Fine Color.” Since then, the members of the Ryan Montbleau band have changed several times over the years and have released albums which include “Patience on Friday,” “Heavy On the Vine,” “Growing Light,” “Stages: Volume III,” and “I Was Just Leaving.” As a solo artist, Montbleau has opened for artists and bands which include Rodrigo y Gabriela, John P. Hammond, Melissa Ferrick, Martin Sexton, and Ani DiFranco. Montbleau has previously been named the Best Local Male Vocalist at the Boston Music Awards..
