Phum Viphurit is a Thai singer-songwriter from Bangkok, Thailand, who gained international fame after the release of his single, “Lover Boy.” Phum Viphurit releases a mixture of music which balances between, indie, folk, and neo soul. Although Viphurit was born in Bangkok, Thailand, him and his family moved to Hamilton, New Zealand when he was nine years old. While living in New Zealand, Viphurit found himself immersed into music after he began playing the drums. He ended up having to turn to guitar shortly after as the neighbors complained about the noise. By the time that Viphurit was 18 years old, he moved back to Thailand where he studied at the Mahidol University International College.
