Paul Stanley is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and record producer, who is best known for being the co-founder, frontman, guitarist and co-lead vocalist of the rock band Kiss. Through his work with Kiss, Stanley is also known as the Starchild and he has written or co-written several of their songs. Stanley was born in Manhattan, New York, and while growing up, Stanley loved listening to music and was gifted his first guitar, a child’s guitar at seven years old. By the time he was 13, Stanley earned his first real guitar and he began playing songs from artists and bands which included the Byrds, Bob Dylan, and the Lovin’ Spoonful. Stanley studied at the High School of Music and Art and after graduating, began playing in local bands such as Rainbow, and Uncle Joe and Post War Baby Boom. He then joined Wicked Lester alongside Gene Simmons, and after the bands disbandment, the duo joined Kiss together. During his time with Kiss, the band released 20 albums and were best known for their singles which included “Rock and Roll All Nite,” “I Was Mad for Lovin’ You,” “Beth,” and more. As a solo artist, Stanley has released two albums, “Paul Stanley,” and “Live to Win.” He has previously earned the Sound Partners Lifetime Achievement Award from the House Research Institute and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame..
