Raul Yzaguirre is an American civil rights activist who has previously been the United States Ambassador to the Dominican Republic and is a life member for the Council on Foreign Relations. Yzaguirre was born in San Juan, Texas, and he went on to enlist in the U.S. Air Force Medical Service where he served for four years. Apart from his career with the National Council of La Raza, Yzaguirre has been a member of the Independent Task Force on North America and has founded The Raul Yzaguirre Policy Institute, which informs policy and the civic leaders who frame it to benefit the Hispanic community.
